He has been co-counsel in class action litigation resulting in a six-figure settlement on behalf of over 500 tenants in a mobile home park who had been overcharged for utility services. He also recently obtained a six-figure jury verdict against an insurance company that included significant damages for a bad faith denial of insurance benefits.
Mr. Portnoy has earned a reputation as an aggressive litigator, working effectively and professionally with clients, co-counsel and opposing counsel.
In 2014 the Toledo Public School System awarded Mr. Portnoy Volunteer of the Year for participating in the Read for Literacy program sponsored by the Lucas County Library. Mr. Portnoy continues to participate in the Read for Literacy program to help school children succeed with their education.
